Sys ID
What is Sys ID?
Sys ID is a tool that allows you to measure the characteristics of your robot. This includes the motor velocity, acceleration, and voltage curve. It also allows you to measure the drivetrain's velocity and acceleration.
How to use Sys ID
View the Sys ID documentation for more information.
- Fill out the generator information in the Sys ID tool. This includes mechanism type (drivetrain, arm, etc.), motor ports, encoder ports, and the gear ratios.
- Hit the deploy button in the generator tab.
- In the Logger tab, fill out the information for the logger, then run each test, quaistatic and dynamic, both forwards and backwards.
- Save your data, then load it into the analyzer.
- Look at the data, take a look at analyzing data for more information on how to analyze the data.
An alternative to Sys ID is ReCalc
ReCalc is a easier to use alternative to Sys ID, since it doesn't require data recording to generate values, and it runs in your browser, making it easy and convenient to use.
